Call it home leaving. I do not have a home coming yet, but I could sure call my return to Chiapas a sweet home coming!
As most of you know, I have been planning, preparing to downsize ever since Frank's death 6 years ago. I have been selling, packing, and thinking out my short and long term future. The beautiful house that Frank built, with the trees, ravine, gardens, travel treasures, and years of stuff, everything had to go! And this included an impossible to move organ, a large indoor tree, a long time renter, and 2 white rabbits!
It was painstakingly, and methodically accomplished last weekend.
MUCH advice from my family over the years and many dear helping hands allowed me to get all my earthly belonging into one Packrat container. It will be stored until I return from Mexico at the end of March. I will look for a new place then. It will be compact, cute, and connected to the outdoors somehow. Tho I had a few tears as I closed the door for the last time, I am excited and looking forward to making a new and simpler nest! I know Frank was looking sown, smiling and telling me it was ok.
I feel as tho I am passing the blessings of the home to the new owners. They are people of faith and feel as tho God led them to stop by to just check out the house that first day. They love the beauty and uniqueness of the house and property. We have become friends! She wants me to come over in the spring and help her with learning the vegetation on the property, the fruit, the trees, and perennials. She is a teacher and wants to travel with our mission. Funny thing.....
So, I have a forwarding address, down the street. Joy has opened up her home for as long as I need. How sweet is that. I have already "nested" in my small bedroom. It will work out well for both of us.
So, with a deep breath and most loose ends tied up, I am aboard AeroMexico, Flight #1597, approaching Mexico City, the first leg of my next chapter!
Woo Hoo! God is good. His timing is exactly right. He makes a path before me and holds me up.
