Good news to report... new clinic physician and nurse are finally official!
We welcome Dra.Deyza (Daisy) Gomez Lopez. And Nurse Carlos Alexander Lopez Gomez!
Dr.Daisy is a relatively new grad, from a Medical School In the state of Vera Cruz. She did her internship at a high level hospital in Vera Cruz, and her government service at several rural clinics, also in Vera Cruz. She speaks Tzeltal and Spanish. She would like to connect more with the other health facilities and services in Ocosingo, and make the clinic more well known. She is single, and likes to work out at the gym!
Nurse Carlos graduated last year from the Institute of Nursing in Tuxtla and has a specialty in Pharmacy. He works as nurse/pharmacist in our clinic. He is 24, single, and lives in Ocosingo. He attends a Presbyterian church in town and has a girlfriend who also is a nurse and works in the small government hospital in Ocosingo. He hopes to get more pharmaceutical training. He is very personable, speaks Tzeltal and Spanish and outside of work, enjoys playing guitar, bongos and rhythm instruments in a band.
They both enjoyed working with the Medical Caravan in February, and look forward to our twice per year medical team brigades.
BIENVENIDOS!

NA ‘L TE. House of the tree, a Tzeltal Village...
We made a lovely visit to this quaint village. They wanted to discuss with Pastor Pablo having an American work group help enlarge their little church. We were guests for a small worship service that included special guitar music, done in very serious, formal fashion. And we were served a wonderful traditional caldo with chicken and chayote in it.
