A SPECIAL WEEK ONE, CARAVANA MEDICA. JAN. 2018

A SPECIAL WEEK, it was!   Some groups bond well, and gel as a team.  We become close and it is hard to part. 4 members of the team departed today.   They were bigger than life friends, professionals and Jesus followers.  This morning Alice did our devotions by saying a personal bit about each of us along with an appropriate scripture.  Very sweet.  She ended with a poem about the children...powerful.  I will share when she sends it
Jomarie, my little sister; Doc John, old friend;  and Maria, new sister were presences to behold!  What a joy to work together.  We worked steadily as the number of patients increased all week.   Thurs. and Friday were long days.   We saw more pts with serious and unusual ailments.  People are still coming from afar.  I wish I could post photos.  A picture is worth a thousand words.
The lady with the large neck tumor.  The little boy very sick, needing a breathing treatment.  The man with the huge hernia, and the man with the huge prostate ( the size of a tangerine, according to Dr. Bill.)  The lady with a probable uterine tumor, and the man with TB.  People with uncontrolled diabetes and emotional and social problems.  And of course, the myriad of people with headache, stomache ache, knee aches “bolas” in their intestines, and stomachs that “dont like anything”.  We saw  newborn twins, and a “gift from God” in a baby born to an older mom.  And the tears of an unmarried girl when we told her she was pregnant. We saw blank stares and wide grins, and felt thousands of hugs and Gracias’, Jo Colawol’s, and Bendigas’.   Maria massaging hands was a huge blessing, as well being very therapeutic .  We laughed...a lot.
Thanks for a safe, fun, productive, inspirational, and  blessed week!
Next week we will do it again..
Love,
